Monday this week, the project made a study visit to the property operations in Piteå Municipality. Nine project participants from Skellefteå and Umeå traveled to Piteå where we were welcomed by Halldo Lundgren, Leif Lundberg and Johan Pettersson from Piteå Municipality.

We started at the city hall where we went through the program for the day. There we also had a meeting with Pite energi, and discussed the possibility of creating an API where we can download the energy consumption for the municipality’s properties.

We recognized the symbols from Webport.

The purpose of the study visit was to get a better picture of the reality behind the data that we download from Piteå Municipality via Webport to our IoT platform Snotra. We would then visit a subset of the properties we have connected to.

After the initial discussions, we walked around the city hall and looked at different parts of the energy system there.

We pack up to move on to other properties from the beautiful meeting room in City Hall.

It’s cramped in some service rooms. However, this one is significantly larger than the smallest ones we visited.

We then went to look at the energy system in Strömnäsbacken preschool before taking a lunch break at Acusticum.

We then continued to Ängsgården nursing home.

We began the journey back south by looking at the facilities in Munksund school. The last visit was then to Jävre school, where we also thanked our hosts for an interesting and rewarding day. Our data becomes much more alive when we have also seen reality!
