Last week, our team from the ESUDA project had the opportunity to attend the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW2026) in Brussels. Aida Nauanouva, Saguna Saguna and Leif Häggmark, joined researchers, policymakers, industry experts, and innovators from across Europe to discuss the future of sustainable energy.
Throughout the event, we attended a range of panel sessions, policy discussions, and networking activities covering topics such as AI-powered energy systems, smart grids, energy policy, and innovation for the energy transition. It was particularly valuable to hear perspectives from different sectors and countries, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges involved in building a more sustainable, resilient, and secure energy future.
We also promoted all of our three energy saving projects; ESUDA, ACE-ESUDA and ENiSDA, and made some very interesting new contacts for future collaborations.
For us as researchers, events like European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) provide an important opportunity to connect ongoing research with real-world needs and developments. The discussions and insights shared during the week offered valuable perspectives that will help inform our future work and strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers.
A big thank you to everyone we had the pleasure of meeting and exchanging ideas with throughout the week. We look forward to staying connected, fostering new collaborations, and building on the insights gained in our future research.
